I was curious how the Taco stacked up to the Raptor now that I've got the Fox lift. Man is that a big truck!

Raptors are crazy trucks. I’d rather have the yota any day.

because of the price difference, you'd have nearly $18k to sink into your toyota and make it much much much more offroad capable. Only thing you'd lose at is a drag race lol

One of the things that sticks out to me about Raptors is just how wide they are.

Alot of people don't realize this but the raptor lights that have become so iconic weren't put there by Ford for show- they are actually legally required because the Raptor exceeds the width requirement for necessitating extra marker lights by an inch or something. Theyre basically as wide as a semi.

I love those trucks though. It's on the short list for whenever I finally run my taco into the ground.

MORE interested in seeing a new Ford Ranger Raptor Vs Tacoma TRD PRO to reach apples to apples. I will say this, all the moaning I hear from some about our Tacoma's would stop if they had a turbo V6, it would be crickets except for the truly miserable amongst us. Having driven so many cars naturally aspirated and not...to include Diesel GMC's, V8's Dodge, Chevy, GMC, Toyota and V6 trucks I can say that is the only thing missing. The Ranger will be a four banger so not sold on it yet...a 6 Turbo, Hells Yeah... I would love to see a GEN4 with a Turbo 4 or 6

Our old truck was a V8 Dakota, current is v6 tacoma. I don't find myself looking back on the v8 fondly, it was a gas guzzling overpowered engine for our purposes (daily driving and light wheeling). That v8 would always get us stuck in sand/mud and always loosen up the rear end in 2wd. It felt like we needed 1,000lbs in the bed just to make the truck run properly. I'm always curious on what people do with these turbo V6's and raptor-type power. 400hp+ seems counterproductive to wheeling or am I crazy?

    For me: :deadhorse:

The RR is not confirmed for the US yet. It was also said that none of their current V6s will fit under the hood. They are stuck with 4cyl turbos on that platform because it is designed for global markets, not the US.

That drag race might be pretty close if you sunk part of that $18K into an OVtune twin turbo setup.

Exactly and ON POINT.....Have seen Rangers in Sint Maarten for years on the Island...none here. I'm waiting to see how the Ranger Off-Road stacks up AFTER the gawking Truck & Driver Magazines are over their initial moist moments...

not quite semi truck wide but that is exactly why they are there. Over the 72 inch limit. its like a standard vs dually f350. One is right on the limit the other is too wide and gets cab marker lights.
this is also a reason why i kinda chuckle when i see people put them on their tacomas because were so damn narrow in comparison.

I wish the Taco was as wide as the Raptor, but I'll take my Taco any day.

The Raptor is an amazing truck but that 70K price tag punched me right in the 401K.

Went with a TRD Pro Taco for 40% less and no regrets.

Right! He bought his 14 when I came back from my first deployment, he was driving an 05 Excursion at the time and had no idea what a Raptor was when I pointed it out at the Ford Dealer, we stopped in to play test drive and next thing you know it was in the driveway. I was back home from my 2nd deployment 2 weeks ago and we went and drove this one, worked out the intial numbers, Dad walked away (he has more financial impulse power than I do) and since I've been back to work last few weeks has been working them down from the $4k over MSRP markup to $1k under MSRP and an additional $2k on his trade, he definately scored a deal and he always wanted lightning blue, this is the last year for them, 2 new blues next year.
