Got rid of our standard cab 93 (sniff-sniff) for a doublecab 08. My son's booster seat fits perfectly and when our adoption is final, a baby seat will fit well, too. The only thing that I'd caution you to remember is no trunk. Yes, you have a bed, but unless you have a cover or topper, things will get wet, snowy, cold or whatever. No problem for us, but it is something to think about.

^Yes, that is an issue. I bought a tonneau on Friday just for this reason. A soaking wet stroller is no good.

But, don't be so sure about the rear facing infant seat fitting so well. Unless, like I said, you're a midget or your passenger is willing to move the seat up.

    Congtatulations on the babies.

If you plan on keeping the truck for a long time, go with the double cab. That way as the kids grow, there will be plenty of room for them.

Congrats on the twins! I have twins too. Check out my gallery. We made due with a Ford explorer with our twins until we got the wife a van. If I was doing it again right now, I would go double cab Taco with a cap and the bed rug for the back. You'll have lots of supplies and the back will be a requirement!

As said above, the rear facing seat may be tight for a while, but unfortunately that stage is too short, and remember you are doing everything as a two-fer. Which means total time in car seats is shorter for us than those who have babies one at a time.:)

Welcome to TW and we want to see pics of the babies!!:D

I fit 3 car seats in the back of my DC, well 2 booster seats and the base mounted baby hauler, it gets in their and SAFELY too. The kids don't cram up against the door or each other, its not my everyday config since the old lady drives a Tahoe, but when needed, they squeeze into the DC.

Congrats on the twins i am expecting TRIPLETS. First question how tall are you and your wife? And i will tell you if a tacoma will work. I have a 20 month old and he can fit behind my wife 5'6" but im 6'1" and he aint fitting behind me. Either he is no leg room or i have none.

Still looking forward to those pics Tech!:)

edit: I'm 6' tall and the 9 year olds fit behind me fine. Probably varies dependant on driving style/seat preference position.

Here are a few shots that might help, my wife is 5'4" so she can sit comfortably in front with my son behind her.
I took a few measurements that might help you.
Here is the distance from the baby seat to the rear of the passenger seat, the pass seat is slightly reclined and pushed back enough for it to be comfortable and not impede on my sons leg room.

Here is a measurement on the passenger outside seat track to give you an idea as to how far forward the passenger seat is.

Just an overall shot for reference.

Again congrats on the twins and best of luck!:bananadance:

That is a two piece seat protector, it protects your cars seat from the baby seat among any other accidents that may happen
The bottom and back are two separate pieces that velcro together, it is molded to retain any spills or snacks and has cut outs for seat belts or other safety restraints.
It also helps your seat cushion come back to it's original shape after having the baby seat compressed into it for such a long period of time.
They can be easily washed too.
Here is a link, they are very affordable.

Target, Baby's R Us sell them.

Since were all on this subject here is another helpful link on car seats.

Here's a question: Has anyone been able to use the LATCH system? I am not using it because the tie downs aren't long enough.

I use the latch system, the belt length on the seat we use reach's no problem.

Also have a Mazda 3 as primary for my 2 y/o and 2 month old boys. Little more space in back seat w/ the truck. The 2 y/o forward facing, no problem other than when he kicks. The rear facing 2 month old seat, have to move the front passenger seat up a little to get in ok.

Obviously more room in a Tundra Crew, but mange fine w/ what we got and when both will be forward facing, no problems.
