Back in a Taco "Build"

Owned a 2006 AC TRD OFF ROAD a few years ago and traded it for a Z71. I regretted getting rid of the Tacoma immediately. Almost 3 years later I'm back! Purchased a 2014 Super White DCSB TRD OR with 35K miles 7/13/17

Old truck with Bilstein 5100 @ 1.75 and Toytec 1.5" AAL and 1000lbs of deer corn in the bed. Wheels and tires are XD Addict 17" with 265/70 Federal Couragia tires.



New truck the day I got it. Came from dealership with a spacer installed, mud flaps removed, and New Weathertech floor liners.

First thing I did was order some TRD Pro Sema 4R wheels and 265/70/17 BFG KO2 C range tires.






Looks like some serious bro lean but the picture was at an angle. Also added AVS in channel window visors.

AFE pro dry drop in filter. No real noticeable difference with it installed (haven't calculated MPGs)

 

OEM color matched grille from Camelback Toyota. They had the best price that I could find. I sanded, primed, and painted the emblem.

Ordered my suspension tonight.
OME 884
Bilstein 5100 front and rear
1/4" top plate spacer
Deaver 1.5" to 2" AAL

May not install the AAL after seeing some pics without it. Will install the front first and see how I like it. Hoping I don't regret not going with the OME 885.

 

Got this in yesterday. Ready to get an off day and get it installed.

 

Still waiting on some off days to get the new suspension installed.

Also installed some Noico sound deadening and some Kicker 40CSS674 component speakers. Also have the

Alpine KTP-445U power pack that needs to be installed. The Kickers are a definite improvement even with the stock head unit. I attempted to install the Alpine power pack, but I didn't feel comfortable cutting into the stock harness.

Got an alignment and the PowerPack installed today. Truck definitely drives better and the Alpine brought some more life to the Kicker components.

Well, I’m back in a full-size truck. Due to a growing family, I traded the Taco in for a 2015 F150 CrewCab 4x4. Will miss my Tacoma and sure I’ll be back one day!
