It's been a long and winding road.....had a '13 and have since had a few other rigs (Tundra, Raptor and Super Duty) but back in a Tacoma. Picked up a '20 TRD OR 6MT and added the TRD faux beadlocks (always loved those wheels and the dealer had a set) with BFG KO2 265/75/16's and TRD exhaust.

Already ordered an ARE topper and will probably add a platform rack. Might do more depending on how bad the mod bug bites me. Anyway, here she is!

Nice looking truck. Did you order the Tonneau and then change your mind and want the camper shell instead?

Congrats on your new rig! I really wish they made the MT in a DCLB variety.

Thanks! It actually came factory installed (bought the truck off the lot) and I'll sell it once I get the topper put on

Nice rig! Those wheels look great! I am going to buy my first Tacoma (tomorrow hopefully!) and I want to get wheels like you have.

Can anyone here comment on whether these TRD "Off Road Beadlock-style" wheels perform "better" somehow than stock ones? Are they lighter? Do they feel any different to drive?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
They don't really perform better. They are about the same weight as stock depending on the wheel, maybe even a little heavy. The bead lock is just a trim ring that can be removed and is functional as a stone guard for the valve stem and wheel edge. They look good but are a pain to keep balanced. I had a set for four years.

    Thanks for the speedy reply!
For my education - what made them "a pain to keep balanced"?

I think it is just the way they are made. Always had to be weighted heavy and I figure because so many weights had to be used it would throw some. Mostly just the design of the wheel I assume but they look awesome. I replaced them with SCS Ray10's.

The trim ring or bead lock also holds water/dirt and shit so they can be a PITA to keep clean.

Thanks for the tip about the trim rings trapping dirt. That's the kind of stuff you just can't know until you actually *use* a product.

    Those RAY 10's look GREAT! But I better just look away. It will take enough finesse as it is to slip those TRD wheels past the scrutiny of my spousal unit - she is not really that interested in the *details* of this (my) vehicle purchase... just the final cost! %^}

    No worries man. Good luck.
I feel your pain. A few years ago someone backed into my front bumper and it needed to be replaced. I got home and was super pissed and my wife calmly said "just fix it, shit happens". The next week she walked into the garage where I was under the truck installing my new fab fours plate bumper and said "how fucking much was that". I replied "let's just get divorced, I hate to fight". She called me an asshole and went inside. LOL...

I refer to her car as her $60k trash can!

Nice rig. I have the same tires and rims on my '13.

Nice truck! What made you decide to come back to a Taco? If I ever go full size and power I fear I 'll likely won't come back.

Thanks! Full size is great for power but there are downsides as well. I don't tow enough anymore to justify a super duty. I take my rigs hunting, fishing...etc and full size trucks are a pain on small trails. I had the "lack of power" regret with my '13 and will never feel that way again. The versatility, reliability and utility of the Tacoma can't be beat. I enjoyed the Raptor but the transmission on my truck was horrible.

Love the wheels, super jealous! Haha. I wish those faux bead wheels didnt cost so much, dealer was asking for an arm and a leg without tires. Wouldve loved a set
