I had a 5th Gen for almost 10 years. I wish the Taco was more like it.

You didn't. Just kinda was trying to figure out what value you get out of this board. Turns out, it's narcissism.

Sadly I totally agree. It’s nice and all but definitely time for some completely new.

I like the 4R...but didn't seem to be anything special (not that the Tacoma is. The Tacoma just fits all of my needs at the right price point).

Had one as a rental for a bit. Never thought I would feel softer suspension than my TRD OR. That thing wallowed all over the road. Was an SR5 trim.

I had the exact same experience. I mean it’s great don’t get me wrong, but I literally felt all over the place and felt a bit cramped when I had one as a loner.
Funny thing is, my 21 Tacoma felt the same lol, had to upgrade the suspension and now it’s perfect and suited my needs much better.

    I like my Thrid-Gen (2021) SR5 Toyota Truck.

    The keyword here is: TRUCK

It is not a Cadillac Seville - never was, never will be... it's a friggin TRUCK

If you want beautifully appointed trims and smooth as butter rides buy a Cadillac so you can perform a circumcision doing 60mph over pot-holes....
or perhaps a Ridgeline so you can pretend to have a truck.

Personally, and I think I speak for most of us here, I'll take the TRUCK with all it's limitations and shortcomings -

The only thing I didn't like about the 4runner I had for a loner was the gas mileage. It was worse than my Tacoma and that has 285 tires on it.

While I completely agree with the sentiments expressed in your post, just the thought of that brings a painful visual to mind that I cannot un-see.

That is indeed a truck, but the fact that four-door configurations with limited bed space are becoming the most popular option and that people want interior and entertainment packages that drive the price close to $50,000 suggests many people apparently don’t want a truck. Then they complain that the last few things that make it a truck, such as the suspension, engine, and transmission, remind them that they are in the truck.

I’ve now been waiting almost 2 months for a basic truck.

You pretty much just described a 3rd gen Tacoma minus the top heavy part lol.
