'16 Tacoma TRD DBL CAB short bed

I had the same problem and used this video to help me figure out how to open/access the area behind the seat where the latch mechanism is.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn-ar6pPJJg. Then I simply sprayed some silicon lubricant on the latch mechanism and worked it back and forth. It seems to have worked, so I reassembled...hope it lasts
