Has anyone ever sat in the back seat of a tacoma and also a dodge ram quad cab? The ram looks way smaller but when you look up the space the ram supposedly has significantly more.

    tacoma - 32.6”

    dodge ram- 36.7”

That could be due to the width of the trucks. I know my 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad had more leg and seat room than a regular Dodge Ram Quad. The mega cab on the Ram trucks is a different story.

    What years are we talking?

My 2008 quad had more room than my 3rd gen Tacoma, but it was still miserable for normal sized humans. The big difference was that I could miserably haul three adults in the back instead of two. Both are great for hauling dogs, ok in a pinch when doing a lunch run with coworkers, not ok for road trips. The Ram has a wider couch and a bigger bed, the Tacoma fits in the garage and can find parking downtown. Pick yer poison.

3rd gen rams 02-09 is what I’m looking at. As long as it’s bigger than the Tacoma. I have a 10 month old with a rear facing car seat. It fits in the Tacoma behind the passenger seat. I don’t want a mega cab cause it’s just way too much. I know the newer rams have a crew cab which would be perfect, but they are way more expensive.
