Hello from north Texas! I just picked up a 2018 SR5 double cab 4 x 4 that I really like so far. Admittedly I’m a little nervous about it because I’m coming from a Silverado with a lift kit and 35s that was essentially an off-road Cadillac. Miles on that truck we’re starting to get high and having already spent around 9k or so in maintenance and repairs over the last few years I decided to just let it go before the next major breakdown . I’m actually really sad to see it go! It was one of those trucks that when you’re going down the road and see it, you would say ‘look at that truck!’ So what I have now is a miniature version of that truck. The color is the same, the interior is the same, but it’s not lifted, prompting my daughter to point out that my wife’s minivan actually has a taller profile now. Lol! Looks like I’ll have to change a few things… but I really don’t want to lift the truck, or at least not much.

My experience with Toyota is not limited to this Tacoma however. My last Tacoma was an ‘06 that I honestly never actually cared for and only kept it for less than a year. But prior to that I’ve had probably a dozen of the Hilux pick ups and even for a time I would buy them needing repairs, fix them up and resell them for a profit. so I knew if I wanted lower maintenance and way higher reliability I needed to get another Toyota! Anyway, I will probably be a lurker more than a frequent poster. Looks like there are so many modifications that I can do on this truck that it will keep me busy for quite a while!
