Tint and door edge guards - sounds like the same dealer I dealt with here in Vegas.

Looks sharp ! ... with the crazy low miles (little over 3k a year) dealer will probably list at 55k or so.

    Nothing major yet.
Just FYI with a trade in your getting tax credit in most states meaning whatever you get as trade in is what you don’t have to pay tax on.

If you can survive a gap year without a truck - sell your tundra and make due somehow for a year or so. Toyota just secured chip manufacturing so the Tacoma supply will start to run back up.

That said chances are depending on what trim you're looking for, a gap year with a sedan etc might cost the same as the up front cost of the Tacoma.

I'd say do it. These newer Tacomas are so big they're similar in size to older tundras.

The only thing I can't recommend is if you live in the mountains. The gear hunting is a loooot better than it was but it still does it for me on mountain passes. Seems to be worse on cruise control than when I am peddling down.

Not for truck in Rhode island. If it was I'd consider swapping out but for tricks in RI you pay sales tax on the full transaction cost regardless of your trade in. It's shenanigans.

My .02 would be to wait a year or two for the new Tacoma (or 4runner) if you are making a switch at this point. The new one will surely have a turbo by the looks of things and improved gas mileage (sounds like you want both of those things based on your test ride).

I love my Taco but it's definitely not as fun to drive as my dads 2019 Ranger Fx4 with the Ecoboost - Big difference in that dept.

Back to a Tacoma. I have thought about this a few times. I love my tundra and it’s a great truck. But there are times where I find myself wondering if it’s overkill for my needs. I enjoy going hunting and fishing but a Tacoma can do those things. I drive it daily and it’s on 34’s ( cuz I can’t leave anything stock) and I get 13-14mpg which is to be expected. I also tend to be in it by myself 99% of the time. But at the same time it’s nice to have the space when I do have the family in there. So would a Tacoma work for me? yes it absolutely would. Do I switch from my tundra I don’t know…another kicker being the tundra is paid off. I have also been considering just picking up a used Honda Civic or something for all my commuting and just keeping the tundra in the garage and use it for my other adventures.

I came back to the Tacoma after a 14 year gap. My last Tacoma, an '07 4x4 regular cab was a dog on all accounts. I didn't fit right, it had driveline issues, a cheap interior, and the manual transmission was not up to expectations (having owned many manual '90s Trucks and Tacomas). Anyway, I was tired of the full-sized trucks and test drove a 3rd gen truck several months ago. Wow! A lot has changed with the Tacoma since 2007. This current truck, 2020 DC 4x4 SR5, really exceeds my expectations. I love this truck and I'm glad to be back in the Tacoma family.

There are folks coming from turbo 4’s and 6’s that would rather have a NA 6. My 2017 turbo 4 ecoboost blew (turbo and head gasket leak) at 105k miles. The repair bill was north of 7k. I trust Toyota more than Ford, but given the choice I’d take a NA engine over a twin turbo every day of the week.

The 2024 Tacoma is going to be a Turbo 4 so if you want a NA 6 you better get one soon.

Yea, I was letting the previous poster know you may be getting the 22 instead of waiting for the 2024 that is rumored to have the TT4 that is in the 2022 Lexus NX350. The TT4 really is just a rumor at this point though. Toyota is building the Land Cruiser (not in US), Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner, and Tacoma on the TNGA platform. The LC, Tundra, and Sequoia have the TT3.5. So I am not positive they are going with the TT4 in the 4Runner and Tacoma when they could stick with the 3.5 either as the Turbo or NA. That way the engine mounts and engine blocks are the same.

So traveling again and at the National Car rental again and come across a base 4 cyl. 2 wheel drive and say “nah’. Hop into a Rav 4 and as I’m pulling out, here comes a worker in a 2021 ORDC 4x4 in white, same car I have a deposit on but with cloth seats. Yell to him to stop and I’m jumping in. Too funny…. Needs a lift :) and shoes.

I higly doubt the 2024 is going to have a twin turbo, more likely a single turbo 4 and a Hybrid are most likely your choices.
