Sorry that didn’t fix your issue. Mine still works but I will be curious to see how you ultimately get yours fixed.

Reviving an older thread but wanting some confirmation the switch on my 5sp manual needs replacing. Camera works fine (have button to turn it on manually), but no reverse lights - they were dim at first, but if I played with the shifter they’d come on normally, now they are completely out and camera doesn’t go on when shifted to reverse. Checked the trigger wire in a-pillar and getting little to no volts when I’m reverse, so am thinking it’s likely the switch. How common is it for the reverse switch to need replacing?

I wouldn’t say it is common.
But it does happen, I’m pretty sure there’s been at least 1 post on here with the switch going bad.
I think the guy even posted pictures of it.

You could unplug the reverse switch and jump the connector.
If the camera works, replace the switch.
If not, then the switch isn’t the problem.

Of you want to be “safe” use a Voltage meter and test the switch.
But you’ll need to remove the switch. Or have a helper put the Trans in and out of reverse while checking the ohms/continuity.
