Back up camera wont turn off 2014 tacoma

Hi,
I have a 2014 tacoma and the back up camera is stuck on. When I turn the truck on, the display panel shows the back up camera and it won't get out of that srceen. So, the back up camera is on while I' driving down the road. Ocne in a while the screen flickers and goes completely blank for a few seconds (5-10) before going back to the back up camera. Anyone else ever have this problem? Right now the dealership says, it could be a software issue or you need a whole new system. Truck only has 37,000 miles.

 

I honestly don’t know exactly how the camera system works.
But “think” the reverse camera is “triggered” by Park/Neutral or Back Up switch.
(Depending on your Transmission Type)

Are your Reverse Lights on all the time?
And have you modified or added to the Reverse Lights?
