    Hello,
I was wondering if the first gen Tacomas have a fuse for the back up lights or would I have to replace the back up switch if both my back up lights have gone out? Thank you!

You've checked both sockets and determined there is no voltage present when in reverse?

Not exactly. About a month ago I realized one of them wasnt working and I replaced it and it still didnt work. Yesterday my grandfather noticed that both of them weren't on and we double checked just to make sure that it wasn't because I wasnt letting off the clutch completely and sure enough both lights dont turn on.

Well, start by testing the sockets. A budget friendly DVM will work fine.

If they have no power, move upstream. If they do have power, you may have a bulb fitment issue.

Okay thank you I'll test both the sockets and the back up light switch.

If you find power in the sockets, no reason to test the switch.

Ok I'll pick up a multimeter and test the sockets. Hopefully I find the problem.
