I made a similar mistake with my now-gone Dodge truck backing into a parking spot where I didn't a steel light pole on the driver side. The impact took out the tail light, crunched up the rear fender area, scuffed rear bumper corner, etc. As I remember it was about $1500-1700 in repair. And that was 17 years ago. I think the only part that actually required replacement was the tail light assembly.
Yes, it was at very SLOW speed < 4 MPH.

Yea. It's only a 5 mph bumper. Then frame damage.

Damn, I had an old Corolla years ago with two shocks mounted behind the back bumper. I got hit by a big Mercedes at a stop light once and it felt like I was totaled. To my surprise, there were just scratches on the bumper. Now, everything is disposable.

Just had the same amount of damage pretty much from being hit. Needed a whole new composite bed, passenger side outer skin, rear bumper, passenger side tail light. And some behind the outer bed skin supports. 6,000.00 in damage. Good Luck with the fix

I backed into some lady in her newish looking cobalt. My 94 stealth didn't have a scratch on the bumper, but her entire rear quarter panel was fucked. I was backing out and he just shot past me and stopped... Never saw her again. I think she gave me a bad phone number. She kept saying she was late for a job interview... at 4pm on a thursday.

At the end of March I was working and some bitch in a Hummer hit me, fortunately all she took out was the plastic over the taillight and a big dent in the bumper. Anyway So they call "The owner of a white Toyota pickup" up to the solution center, told me what happened. The bitch drove off with 3 people waving her down to stop cause she thought she "ran over something". That and even though she's in her 20's she sent her 60 something year old mother to the police station to give the insurance information. We've since gotten the taillight fixed(not worried about the bumper, it's a pos work truck anyway), but I'm still bitter about it

That does suck, it is amazing how far bumpers have fallen in terms of durability. My laptop bag bumped an F150 rear bumper next to me the other day and I heard a rattle, went and knocked on the chrome bumper with my hand to see if it was that and sure enough it rattled. Now it could have been hit before and loose too but it didn't look like it.

I had a 95 GMC that I backed in to a telephone pole in highschool not long after I started driving. Checked the side mirrors, failed to check the rearview through the topper where it would have been smack dab in the middle of my field of vision. Put a good size dent at maybe 5mph but didn't touch the body or bend the bumper just the dent. Took baby huey (a big azz sledge hammer) and brought it mostly out just by pounding it on the truck with some wood blocks. Pretty sure most truck bumpers these days midsize and fullsize couldn't handle that.

Get it fixed and put a plate bumper on and just be more careful is all you can do. Goodluck...

Me. I have the rear bumper bro. the whole thing. Same colored truck as yours. Let me know which parts you are in need. I am about to replace mine with aftermarket.
I can send it to you at a shipping method of your choice. How soon are you looking to get your bumper fixed?

Don't you just hate it when a tree jumps out of nowhere without looking both ways first?

    And is the tree okay?
