Backordered Wheel Center Cap

    2020 TRD Pro Wheels (
    $278 PT9463520002 Toyota Genuine 2020-2021 Tacoma TRD PRO 16" Matte Black Wheel PT946-35200-02 w/Center Cap
    PT9463520002). Center caps had to be ordered as well (
    $57 PT28035200F2 for TRD Wheel Center Caps PT280-35200-F2 138mm Rim Cover Black Hub Caps for 2019-2023 Tacoma TRD PRO 16" Wheel Set of 4 Center Caps for Rim
    PT28035200F2). I placed the order in early April, and everything came in early May eccept the center caps.

    Put in a call to the dealership, and they said the part is on national backorder for 4,000 EA.

    Anyone know more background info on why this particular part is so widely unavailable?

    Perhaps @Jeff Lange ?

    Typical vendor bullshit with getting parts these days. I've been waiting months for a set of caps for SEMA wheels.

    Because whoever is producing them (the low bidder) is currently producing something else more profitable. They'll get to it later.

    Funny...I just followed up with the dealership a couple days ago. They said the national backorder is up to 10,000 units, but theyre starting to see movement on the parts. They actually gave me an ETA...we shall see.

    I've been on backorder since April 3, 2023.
