I recently saw a pic of someone who made a wooden bench in their backseat, for their dogs.

I can’t seem to find it again...

Has anyone here done it; if so, can you post a picture?

Wouldn't the dog rather just sit on the cushion instead of being on wood?

    Unmolested...for now
Laying the backseats flat and putting blankets down does the trick for me (2 dogs).

I thought about this a lot when we got our Access cab and ended up deciding the hammock was the way to go as it somewhat contains the fur, mud, etc. and protects the interior pretty well. No complaints with the Meadowlark and the Mrs. made a cushion to fit the bottom, although you could also buy a couple small dog beds. Our two 55 lb Boxers ride back there just fine...and love it when the slider window is open...

neat, I actually really like the idea of that...I just sold my last car and the amount of fur that had accumulated was mind blowing. did you get the standard size?

I have this saved in my cart for a while now. Let me know how it contains all the hair - might have to buy it as well.

Bartact Seat Covers, Cali Raised LED molle bed system, radio knobs and Subaru Tweeters, OCD interior parts, OEM Exhaust tip, dash cam, hood protector, various theft deterrent items. Still a WIP
I have a back seat cover as well it keeps the hair and dog contained well. Only thing it doesn't do is keep dog snot/drool off the windows and doors but that is an easy clean. My Bartact seat covers are easy to vacuum so if we go on a short trip I don't bother with the full seat cover even if Gemma is less contained in the back seat. This isn't the best picture because she was a bit unruly and didn't have her pug life harness yet which works better in the truck.

She has actually gotten better riding in my truck over the past couple of months which has helped a lot too. I think if we get another dog I will definitely need to use the seat cover more often.

Yes, the standard size fits the Access cab pretty well. I like that the side flaps fold down during entry/exit to protect the door sill area. It's not perfect as you still get hair on the jumpseat headrests and the top of the back/sides of the front seats where they lean against it (above the hammock). I'd say it contains 80+% of the fur...and Boxer fur is a b___h to get out of the Tacoma fabric seats, as many have noted. Also be aware that they can push the center zipper down easily, so when we make a pit stop usually one of them sneaks up front (can't sweat the small things in life). For $49, I think it's a good deal.

The Amazon essentials version of the "dog hammock" is like $15 and has been a great spend for the pup for me. Has some handy pockets for a leash and his travel bowls, etc too

Seats in my DCSB in place and so is pooch. Costco has a 9 dollar seat cover right now, at least at the one in Colorado (Santa Fe and Union). Looks almost identical to the meadowlark. They also have one that is about 30 bucks. On the butt part of the seat I added a four dollar Harbor Freight movers blanket to help absorb water since my dog magically finds water no matter where you are

This is my take on the dog platform for the back. My dog is still a puppy and likes to lay on the center console. The guard is modular so it can be removed when she gets older.IMG_20191112_162755.jpg IMG_20191112_162811.jpg

100%. I went as far as going to the hardware store and buying all the lumber, carpeing, hinges and whatnot, and ended up just putting the back seats down. Been flawless and I can easily put them up when needed. Simpler was better in this case. Only issue I have is with those big ass latch rings welded to the body. They stick out pretty far. Obviously I need them but still.

Backseat down for our dog too. Put a blanket over everything and then the dog bed. Works great and I just shake out the blanket periodically. Have even slid it all over and flipped one side up and had two people back there are him.IMG_20190107_1812429.jpg IMG_20190107_1806267.jpg
