I considered that but I didn't know how I was going to get it done. Did it make the Molle rack less rigid or less able to hold gear?

I like that idea better to tell you the truth. Looks great. Do you remember exactly how much you cut off?

sorry for the confusion. My question is about the back pieces. I had an idea to remove the seats only when needed but hoped the mole back can stay put the whole time so to flip the seats down and remove, then add a bottom from plywood.

Nice project, but based on the type of stuff you are keeping in it, including flowers and nice pillows and blankets, I would have titled the thread:

    “Backseat replaced w/ glamping storage.”

    JK... :)

A great thing about it is if you are only taking you and a passenger, having that extra secure alarm protected storage space is nice (harder to do in a topper), and even with weather stripping in a topper, your stuff will stay a lot cleaner on dusty trails too.

I have a platform I built for my topper, so it hides everything underneath, but the one issue is security so I’ve been working on an alarm for back there too.

Nice work! I really like the idea and your execution. I'm a fan of anything like this that is removable as needs change.

I cut off 1.2” from the bottom. I haven’t mounted anything to it yet as I am waiting to see what all gets covered by my Dometic fridge. It has some play at the bottom. If it becomes an issue I can run a screw down into the GG base and that will keep the Molle panel from flexing forward at the bottom. Easy fix.

I think the Molle back from @docloco can stay in place with the seats in place.

That's what it feels like! But we honestly just took the pillows and blankets right off the bed. The plants were her request, so I used some foam to hold em up. They're surviving the offroading, so I don't care if they're along for the ride. :broccoli:

I’ve been working on mine. Just waiting for the foam tool organizers and the drawer will be done.
    Drawer dimensions: 50”L x 16.5”W x 3”D
Fridge slide gives access to both zones
8020 frame utilizing factory seat mounts and fully removable in a few min.
Platform is 30”x54” still need to add carpet or something. 4D66227F-4FB0-4F68-8815-D627CA9FA6BF.jpg06DD362B-309F-405B-8CCB-993EC5C9CCBF.jpgC1B802E7-1D40-4A22-809A-C7BD87C52A2B.jpgD6D486C7-AC47-4AB3-87EE-8285E0381CAA.jpg38AC0068-3262-4084-B5AE-E3463EBC6487.jpg0586A31F-36BA-4EE9-8B1C-3CAA4157DE92.jpg88260DE3-57C2-46E1-95A3-615E5B44E720.jpg45F98629-4A31-47AF-A975-9820D09FE593.jpgF9DEAF03-7B9E-4443-84B5-D331CDD1680D.jpg

That the CFX75? I have not put mine in my truck yet but read it was too wide to slide out? Or is it just too wide to slide all the way? That looks like plenty to get to everything you need. What slide or slide hardware did you use for that?

yeah it’s a 75. There’s definitely clearance it’s just tight. I got 30” slides online and made brackets out of steel angle to hold some 3”x.75” 8020 to bolt the fridge to. I could have gone with longer slides to pull out more but than they would be longer than the fridge.

If you have pics of how you did that I would love to see it. Fridge is bolted directly to the 8020?

I can take others when I get home but that should give you a pretty good idea. I’ll prob end up trimming that angle down, just wanted height adjustments.

I saw your post in the other thread but thought this would be a better place to ask questions. It looks like the 8020 extends to the back wall. Is it connected at both the floor and back wall? What did you use for the front legs? Is it rebar?

The 8020 does extend past the “leg” support but doesn’t attach to the back wall. I only went past the leg to use a T plate to attach the top rail to the leg. And yes that’s rebar :facepalm:haha that’s all I had laying around the shop. I wanted to use a piece of round stock but oh well haha. Afterward I think it looks kinda cool lol
