Typically it's probably going to be clear and eff'n amazing temps up higher this time of year... maybe a smaller chance of t-storm's rolling in about 3-4ish but we're near the end of monsoon times anyway so probably unlikely.

Also, throw me down for the day trip only as well.

Is anyone down for maybe running Charouleau Gap on Friday? (4x4 only, armor and/or 3"+ lift highly recommended). I haven't run it before and wanna do it, I know the main obstacle has been obliterated by TSF but the wash is still pretty gnarly from what I understand.

I might be interested in a run at the gap. Are you planning to take the whole day? KISS rock and another obstacle (a tippy section of road, I don't know what it was called - it was in the photos in the link provided above) were leveled but I think the most famous obstacle, "The Step", is still there. I ran part of it a few times over the past 6 weeks but never that far, so I don't know if it's there or not. Let's find out!

I can say that the wash is still pretty gnarly. The abundance of hard rain made sure of that...

PUSSY, you dont need skids you have clearance now. LoL I wont be going crazy either until I get my skids back on and my coils cranked up. I need to get that fan shroud fixed. We found the bottom of my fan shroud was torn up and shattered when we dropped my skid. I am going to take it to toyota and be like WTF and see what they say.

As for the Gap... I'm only going if someone else goes. I've never done it so I have no idea how long it will take... but I have no other plans either way.

That's very wise - never go out alone.

The Charles Wells book says 5-7 hours. I'd say that's a pretty good guess.

Do you have the day off and were planning to get started early or what?

I guess you decided not to come through Florence? I use that way from time to time and enjoy it. If it isn't actually shorter, it sure feels like it is.

Yea I'm off wed-sat this week so haha... Yea I figured get started mid morning or so so we wrap up in daylight at least. Aside from that... anything goes for me.

And yea, I really only go out alone (as in one vehicle) if I know the area really well and been there several times over.

Is anyone else up for running Charouleau Gap on Friday? It's a great trail, but as has been mentioned, it's not for the stock guys. Adequate armor (skid plates, bumpers and rocker guards) is highly recommended; locker might come in pretty handy. Driver skill can compensate for a lot, but likely won't allow you to emerge unscathed.

I'll most likely be able to make it, especially if we leave mid-morning.

Hey, I'm in Chandler. Where are we meeting to head to Tucson to meet at the Circle K?

How long is this run, the wife wants to know.
