The Rice Peak part should be about 4 hours depending on how long we spend at the top (should be about lunch time when we get up there) and how long people want to thrash on their 2WD trying to claim the $1 award for being the first one to make it to the top.

I might have to work saturday. If I do I will probably ride my Ducati up in the afternoon to visit with everyone and then ride back down. We will see how it goes, I probably wont know until Friday.

So what's the plan exactly? Are we doing rice peak and then cruising to the top of mt lemmon? What's the time frame on this?

I dunno. The trail on the back connects to the main Mt Lemmon highway road near the ski slope so... not like going back down then around to get back up lol.

It doesn't really take that long on the mountain itself. Getting to/around it is another story lol

Dude, Will... Walk outside and you can see it just north of you. Its on the way to to Reddington Pass, just hang a left at one spot (to go up the front side). It will take a little longer to go up the back but Mt Lemmon is in Tucson.

What do you all use for communication on the trail? FRS/GMRS radios, CB, horn honking?

I have CB... but my antenna mount is jacked up so it's off-line right now. I do have some handhelds (cb and frs/gmrs)

I know it's right outside out of town, I'm trying to figure out if I need a full tank of gas.

Is it a money issue? I know it can get expensive to fill these tanks to the top, but why wouldn't you want to fill 'er up? You'll use it soon enough...

Pro tip... ANY off-road or back country adventure you should have a full tank, period.
