Trust me, I know it's best to have a full tank. But it is a money issue, I don't get my first paycheck for another week and a half. But I will have a full tank.

I guess I have to ask again, lol are we meeting up somewhere on Sat morning to drive down together to Tucson or no? Don't really care either way. Thought it might be more fun if we had a taco train

Yes, we can do Rice Peak. From the maps I have been looking at, the Rice Peak trail entrance is near the Peppersauce NFS Campground. Total time from the starting point in Oracle to the end trip in Summerhaven, it is approximately ~2.5-3 hours.

Add another 1.5-2 hours for the trail to Rice Peak. I have not been there before, maybe some one can chime in on this. But Rice Peak sounds like a good trail for the guys with 4WD. I hear the view at Rice Peak is awesome!

I was planning to camp up there myself, but it does not look like that will be happening.

Dibs on the second radio

The road is directly across from Peppersauce campground.

You'd have to really stretch it out to make it take that long. I drove down the back a few weeks ago. From Organizational Ridge to my house in Oro Valley was 2 hours.

Realistically, it's more like 3 but can vary greatly depending on preparedness of the group and the tendency to stop and smell the roses.

I have been there many times. In fact, I was just up ther elast weekend. I just chimed in...

Apparently there are going to be a few who give the old college try in 2WD. The view is quite nice. make sure to bring a decent camera. I have AT&T and get plenty of service at the top. Make sure to text some pics to thos who couldn't make it; rub it in a little...

That looks like a great map for hiking - which one is it? However, it doesn't actually show the road we'll be taking in. It shows 4472 which is longer and a lot rougher. That's the way I went in on Sat and the washes really show the effects of the heavy rains we got this summer.

The map shows that the road that takes off West from Peppersauce campground is a dead end. That's not true. It's the way we'll be going in on Saturday.

So... still 10 am at the Circle K? Honestly I don't really want it any earlier since I'm in Egypt but... yea.
