Currently running stock wheels. I also have 1.25" Spidertrax spacers. I like the look of the stance and could even be down with going a tad wider. I'm starting to look at lifts and new wheels and I'm not sure exactly how to figure out what my current backspacing is with my spacers. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.

First you need to know your current wheel width and offset.

    16x7: 7/2=3.5+.5+25mm= approx. 5”backspace -1.25” =3.75” backspace +/- a mm or two. Someone double check my numbers.

    That's some good mathin'!
So If I stick with a 7" wheel I'd need 3.75" backspace to keep the same stance?

If my math is right then an 8" wheel would need 5.5"? With an 8" wheel would I have rubbing issues? I should note that I'd like to move up to a 17" rim.

Are you wanting to remove the spacer?

Ideally yes. Just one less thing to worry about. But I'm not against keeping them on. They've caused me zero issues.

I'd like to actually go wider. Currently the wheels are right about even with the fender flares.

Also looks like I'll probably go with a 9" wheel with my 2" lift. Seems that there's more options for tires with 9"

17 x 8.5" 0 offset with 265/70/17 The tires stick out past the fenders about a 1/4". I wanted 0 offset wheels, so I don't have to chop my cab mount when I move up to 285s.

I have no rubbing, zero cutting, 3" lift, mostly on road driving. adjusted caster to 1.5 positive to move wheel forward. Inner fender plastic in front, I was able to make new mounting holes and just tuck the black plastic tighter into the bumper without cutting.

front inner clearance is over an inch and clearance at cab mount is about 3/4". front plastic did barely rub when in full lock when I installed new wheels and tires, that is why I tucked the inner fender in. FYI, check actual dimensions of tire from manufacturer, some can be an inch different from tire to tire even though the "size" is the same. I have actual 33-12.50/17. the diameter is actually 32.6". I was able to fit the 12.50 wide because of diameter being a little shorter. Most 285 tires run at 33" or even sometimes larger. The diameter of your tire will cause more rubbing than the width (depending on how extreme the width, especially if truck isnt lifted)
