I have a 2017 SR5 Tacoma. Has anyone had trouble seeing the screen in bright sunlight when using the backup camera. Is there some kind of adjustment to being able to use the camera when it's hard to see?

Welcome to the forum. There are limited settings for the display on your head unit.

I need to play with the settings also...
But I think the screen gets much dimmer when your driving or head lights are turned on.

Turn DRL off. Will make screen much brighter... I had the same issue... I think there is a way to always have the screen bright, but i still gotta find that setting.

I think it really depends on the headunit you have.

My wife's 17 RAV has the same HU that is in the base SR5 headunit, where as the HU in my 17 OR is much easier to see. The RAV HU has a matte finish and the OR has a glossy screen. I have to put my hand over the Rav HU to see anything in certain lighting whereas my OR is always visible.

Can you post a pic of the HU you have OP?

i clean the camera lens when i notice it getting fuzzy. seems to help some but direct sunlight makes it look washed out.

Are you saying glare on the screen, directly? Or are you saying that the sunlight is washing out your camera feed? I have both issues to be honest. But the physical glare seems worse on my 2020 than it ever was on my 2017.

It’s crazy that my 2010 Prius had a much better screen in both quality and visibility in sunlight
