    Op, since the lens covering is most likely plastic, they make kits for polishing out model airplane canopies, that are clear plastic, and they work damn well, IIRC theyou include 10000 - 15000 grit sandpaper and an Uber fine polishing compound, that should remove the paint and allow you to restore the plastic lense afterwords

    Clay bar is used to clean stuck on debris/over spray off of auto paint. You can get it in the detailing section of walmart/autozone or Amazon. Its what AaronArf was talking about. I've used it to successfully take overspray off my truck from touching up sliders and it worked wonderfully. You'd want to put the camera back in the tailgate so you didn't have to hold it, spray on the lubricant that comes with it, and rub it with the clay bar. As a bonus you can use the clay bar afterward on your truck to get shit off as well

    wd40+microfiber does wonders on most things sticky and have used it on light over spray on several sensitive materials...thats pretty heavy spray but worth a try. I highly doubt it will hurt it. Polish gently and let the wd do the work.

    Yesterday I used CitriSolve, with a q-tip, as that was what I thought Goof Off was, thinkin he was talking about Goo Gone.
    I put it on last night and this morning it was soft enough for thumbnails to remove it.
    It did not come off with thumbnails yesterday.
    Thanks All

    I'm glad you were successful. As a retired laboratory technician (after tonight), I had access not only to solvents, but to chemical compatibility tables. 190 proof Everclear is one of the few solvents that is safe for plastics. I would use it to safely remove paint overspray from my polycarbonate lens glasses. Do not use acetone, xylene, isopropyl, methyl, or denatured alcohols. Here is one example of a chemical compatibility table. Consult it before trying random chemicals:

    @mshultz Thank you.
    I can then safely 'assume' the lens is glass if the denatured did not fog the lens.
