backup camera stopped working

I have a '17 manual and the rear camera is acting up itermittently, when shifting to reverse could show perfectly, could show a dimmed screen with fuzzy lines, could be a black screen.
I have the Anytime camera module and the front camera works perfectly all the time. Using this module the rear camera is hit or miss as well.

Checked out all the wires from the tail end and it all looks solid, i do get image sometimes so the lines must be okay.
So...did this fix your issue?

I have the same issue in my 2017 manual OR but my reverse lights wouldn't turn on either. I had the problem before I replaced the head unit and after. I tried running down the problem and I came to the conclusion that it's the reverse sensor in the transmission since I can turn the rear camera on from the head unit.

Ordered a sensor to replace it, Part 84210-52050, but I think it's for the auto Trans. I leave the country for 12 months in 3 days, so it's a next year problem for me.

I have the EXACT same issue (but on an automatic and the other brand (same thing though) Anytime Backup Camera. Did you ever fix this issue?

 

I'm still overseas and haven't been able to diagnose further. If you're able to use an anytime camera to switch on your rear camera, but it's still hit or miss sounds like a wiring issue somewhere.

The part number I posted above I'm fairly certain is an auto trans sensor. It's not super expensive if you want to get one try swapping the old sensor with a new one though.

 

I can switch to backup camera from the anytime camera but it's not always clear.. sometimes black, sometimes dim, sometimes has interference lines in it. (just like putting it in reverse)

 

That doesn't sound like a sensor issue to me. That definitely sounds more like an electrical issue somewhere between the camera connection and where it connects into the head unit. I'd say pull the head unit and check the connector that plugs into the head unit on that end.

 

I've got the interference lines on mine. Backup camera works, but the image is grainy now and the interference lines are an annoyance. I'd like to try to replace the camera before the warranty runs out.
