Ok..I've looked through the various threads. I have a pretty simple question (I think)

With the factory entune head unit.... the 4 wires are gnd/12v/video signal/video shield. Does the 12v trigger the HU to turn on the video feed...where the aftermarket HU has a setting to turn the camera sense circuitry on? The reason I'm asking is....I bought this adapter from install store

And it has 3 wires....gnd/12v/6v. I read that when putting the truck in reverse, 6v is supplied to the camera regardless.

My question is...can I just plug the rca cable into the video signal and shield connections and be done? This adapter seems to not do much if in fact, 6v is supplied to the camera when in reverse. Sorry to re-beat the dead horse but thanks in advance.
