Just put some 03 tail lights on my 1999 tacoma for the increased light output, especially the reverse lights. Massive difference, but i Still would like a little more light though. Lookin for some suggestions on how to get more light, while in a decent budget. Just put some LEDs in, which look brighter, but don't seem to put out the same pattern because of the longer bulb. I would like to stay with either a real bright 921 halogen or LED Bulb(have seen some good reviews of a r118 bulb, vleds, and Cree LEDs). Don't really want to cut a different bulb and make it work, or do an HID kit. Worried about the heat and power draw, plus I really like the white color of LEDs. Any suggestions?

I put some Silverstar 921's in my 09's reverse lights. Its light output is little better than stock. There only $8.99 if you want to go that route but sounds like your looking for something brighter.

I've seen those. Those are my last option. I'm gonna play around with some Amazon LEDs cause I can always send them back if I don't like them. I've it another pair I'm going to try. Worse comes to worse I'll get the silver stars. I already have 2 round led lights on the back, but am just looking for more light, and something to where I don't have to flip a switch every time I back up

I have just one of these below the back bumper and it lights up plenty behind my truck. I have 15% tint on the front windows and have to back down a long driveway way before the sun comes up, I used to have to roll down the windows and still had a hard time seeing the reverse lights, now i can leave them up and see no problem.

Ill try to get some pics

I just removed the spot lens inside and it spreads a ton of light, i was gonna get the flood version but it has a diffused cover which would mean less light output.

I mean for $17 and the small size I'm happy

I also hear these are good for a couple $ more

How did you wire this? Spliced into the reverse light or did you set up some sort of switch?

Thanks for the recommendation. I have 2 of the generic 60 degree floods they sell. It's a lot of light, was just looking for some out of the reverse lights

What did the conversion from 99 to 03 tail lights consist of? What's the difference?

01-04 tail lights look better, and are a better design. It's a clear lense, and the reflector is better, especially the reverse lights. They plug and play, you can go 01-04 to 95.5-00 no prob, but if you go the other way around you have to add a ground wire to the main plug.
