Recently my truck has acted funny while accelerating from a stop. It acts kind of hesitant and the best word I have to describe it is it accelerates in surges. It seems to be lacking power in the get up and go as well. I don't know if its just the cold weather we have had or what. Im good about allowing my truck to warm up before I leave the house but that doesn't seem to help either????? Any suggestions guys???

Welcome to the forum. If you can answer a few questions about your problem, we may have more members try to help you. How long has it been since you tuned your engine ? Did the Taco have this problem in the summer, or has it just started since the cooler weather ? How many miles do you have on your Taco ? Does it run better later on after driving a while or does it still run badly all the time now ? If you can answer some of these questions and if you can work on your Taco, then we may be able to help you with your problem. Good Luck.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I would start by replacing the spark plugs then clean the MAF sensor. Check vacuum hoses aren't brittle or cracked and replace as necessary.

My truck has 126k on it and tends to run better once it has heated up but the problem has been ongoing since the warmer weather. As far as tune ups go Ive had this truck for 2 years now and have done nothing major to it beyond basic maintenance although the spark plugs were replaced about a year ago. I thinking its just time for a new fuel filter and pump but that's about as technical as my knowledge goes.

MAF means Mass Air Flow it's the sensor just after your air filter on the air intake... Make sure and clean it with the proper solution, CRC has a cleaner. I'm not sure what you guys have or use, I hope that was helpful.
