Corrosion on the positive term is over charging . Long haul drives can do that. Corrosion on the Negative term is generally caused by under charging. Short drives can do that.

Fluid Film can slow down the corrosion on the battery.

 

Check that the water is not overfilled.

The truck will charge and over charge a little on long drives and the gas coming out the vent cap will cause corrosion on the positive term.

carful with the AGM as the third gen trucks don’t spin enough volts to make the AGM happy.

 

Vehicles don't overcharge unless their voltage regulators are failing.

Please stop spreading this falsehood! 3rd gens charge AGM perfectly. My year old AGM reads 13 volts 20 minutes after the rig is shut off. 13 volts is more than 100% SOC!

AGM's do not need over 14 volts to charge. Voltages over 13.7 will fully charge an AGM.

An AGM battery requires less voltage to charge than a flooded cell battery. But, an AGM can handle more voltage than a flooded type.
