I didnt see the label. You take the photo? We were living in OR., when that blew...looked like snow but was ash.

 

No, not at all, I was 4yo in 80. Just a bad ass pic moving around on the web.

 

ah ok, you never know...theres all kinds of different people on TW... I was almost 6 when St. Helens blew its top.

 

During the Korean War Capt. Millett led a bayonet charge up a hill bayoneting 2 enemy soldiers, throwing grenades, clubbing and bayoneting the enemy, while urging his men forward by shouting encouragement. Despite vicious opposing fire, the whirlwind hand-to-hand assault carried to the crest of the hill. His actions resulted in him being awarded the Medal of Honor.

They were trying to net it for a radio collar from about 10' up, and the thing jumped directly into the tail rotor. Not a bad landing since 10ft in a no yaw control situation closes in ZERO time.

Look at the pic. Collapsed skid, no tail rotor at all, 4 sheared tips and, oh by the way, that chopper has 5 blades normally... Damn good piloting since everyone walked away.
