I recorded this video today to try and diagnose where the vibration and noise are coming from on my Tacoma. I’m only getting the vibration while accelerating. If you take your foot off the gas it goes away.

I want to share the video to see if it identifies my carrier bearing as the problem and needs to be replaced.

Also, I don't have any play in any of the U-Joints.

When my truck developed a serious vibration/shudder, I first checked the U-joints, which didn't move. Unfortunately, when i checked them, I had the truck in park, all 4 wheels on the ground. No movement. So, I missed diagnosed the problem.
When I jacked both rear wheels up off the ground, I found the bad U-joint. Everything was able to move as it should, and it was easy to diagnose.

So, when you checked your U-joints, was it with the tires on the ground, or up off the ground?

I did not have my truck off the ground. Thanks for the info. I’m going to check again and see what I find.

Thanks for the help Sailormilan2! I got the rear wheels off the ground and then when I crawled under to check I found a bad spot in the universal joint behind the carrier bearing. Soon as I got the pressure off the drive shaft I as able to move it and find the problem. I am looking for parts now and I still think while I am at it I'm going to replace the carrier bearing, I'm not convinced it doesn't need replacing.

Interesting about load/no-load (acceleration/deceleration). I have some pretty bad vibes that developed recently and I was just thinking about this while driving in to work today. I get the vibrations regardless of it being under load or not. In fact, I'd almost say mine is worse when I pop it in neutral as I coast to a stop. I was thinking this is driveshaft related b/c the u-joints and center support bearing aren't under load from the acceleration allowing the worn parts to wobble more. I'm also going through the mph range quicker during acceleration than I am coasting to a stop so I assume it's more noticeable because of the time spent slowing vs accelerating.
I'm curious to see what others say and what you determine the problem might be.
