    Shops telling me there is play in the rear driveshaft. Bad pinion bearing. What are your thoughts on having a shop replace it?

    I'd confirm pinion bearing vs carrier bearing. If carrier then up to 1/4 - 1/2" isn't out of the ordinary. Out of my league here ... but if it is the pinion bearing I wonder if you could use the impact and try to tighten the nut at the flange vs disassembly of the 3rd member.
