They are obligated to make you whole again while a used set in good condition would be fair. A reputable dealer would just replace the wheels at no cost...

You must really like your father in law to let him drive your Vette!

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Well, more accurately when you father in law gives you a Corvette to make room in his garage you kind of let him drive it whenever he wants! LOL...

He only took it a couple miles up the road to check out the new tires and his claim was he was not prepared for how "sticky" the new tires were. He felt pretty bad. I was a little pissed but how mad can you be when you are only into the car for wax, a battery and tires at that point. And now I guess I can add a used set of wheels to the list.

It is somewhat of a rare care and I am more of the caretaker. It see's about 1,000 miles a year, sometimes a little less. Still has under 16K on it. We take it to dinner a few times a year, normally for a nice drive to Lake Tahoe every summer and I make a few Sat morning beer runs in it after routine maintenance and waxing.

Yup. You had 40k on your wheels. Demo wheels are most likely going to be nicer.

I would never have tires installed by anyone other than a shop that specializes in tires and wheels. I don't want the 18 year old kid that changed my oil mounting my tires. Even then it is risky. I have had Discount, where I even purchased the tires and wheels, handle my wheels like they were off a tractor trailer. I went off on them about some damage and they offered to replace them. Now every time I get the tires rotated, I have a talk with the manager and let them know there had better not be any damage when I get the truck back. It sucks that you can't trust anyone to do things right.

OP, Take the Demo wheels. Trust me you don't want them to send those out for resurfacing. They will never be the same and the finish never holds up. They may look good for a while if that and then the clear coat comes off. Then try and get them to warranty that! The process is not that intense, but they actually take a layer of the wheel off. Depending on the damage to each each they will be a bit lighter. The more damage the lighter the wheel will be.

If this won't cure the problem take the cash and go buy yourself a set of take off's. The market is flooded with them.

The service industry is a mess. The tech is rushed to get as many jobs in during the day. He only gets paid X amout for the job and to get a paycheck worth anything they rush through the job.

I just changed my own oil on my Lexus LX570 for the first time as it's been done through the service dept. All of the bolts were different sizes and or missing. I went up like a roman candle! You could have seen it from where you were. Case in point they don't give a rats 2 cents!

This dealership does not surprise me . They are the ones that tried selling me a 2016 Gen3 OR dbl cab 4x4 PT and some other options for 45,000 before tax. They flat out told me no deals. I told them see ya later

Slightly misleading title, especially since you included the dealership's name. First, it was an accident. There was some negligence but whatever. Second, they're giving you new wheels when they could have just made you take demo wheels. I'm all for calling businesses out on shit but I usually wait until they've definitely fucked up and won't fix it. Seems like the dealership is pretty solid.

According to GM it is Magnetic Red Metallic II.

I've got the 2012 Grand Sport Crystal Red - First red anything! Everything I have is Silver. So this really stands out from my norm! Really wanted the silver but could not find one optioned out the way I wanted it, so took the Museum Delivery Route! Great experience. Was looking at a C7, but with all the trans issues, I've decided to stay put for a while. The thought of shifting that monster through traffic was not appealing at all.

Yeah I hear ya. Unfortunately this one has the auto but at least it has the paddles also. I wish this one were the 6 speed manual. I had a 96 LT4 that I loved with that configuration. I do however suffer from the dreaded shifter solenoid locking up so I need to tear the console out and zip tie that little bastard back. Overall I can't complain. The LS2 does fine for getting it down the road.

So far I have had a 58 that was completely resto modded with an LT1 and mid 70's rally wheels.

The 96 C4 LT4 and the C6. In my opinion GM got most things right in the C6. I can't complain at all about the car.

My Dad got me into the Vette. He has a 2007 Atomic Orange with 90K. That orange has to grow on you! I think you paid extra for that color? When he came home with it. I was like WTF were you blind? I surely hope they paid you to take that color? For the technology that car should have it's doesn't! The C7's are a world apart. It' also so much more plastic and cheap looking!! His is not that optioned out. He doesn't drive any more. He can't anymore. So it just sits in his garage. When I go out every summer I get it going and take him out. He won't get rid of it. I keep after him and so does mom. It's like taking a piece of him away. It's in very good shape for the year. He drove it as his daily driver until he retired. My mom is much younger and drags him around. I don't think either one could get out of it if they got in. I have to grab him by the belt and left him out when I take him out. So I know they don't go out when I'm not around.

Didn't mean to hijack this thread on Vette's, sorry guys!
