ok i'm getting on average 12 - 13 miles per us gallon in my 09 tacoma. on my last half of tank was 39 liters/3.785 l/gal = 10.30 gal and 210 km which is 131 miles. so that gives me 12.7 mi/gal. AND 160 KMS WAS HIGHWAY! someone help? might is be cause i didn't get my first oil and filter change yet? 8000 kms on it now..(5000 miles). if not what could it be? it been like like this for the last few months for sure... i know it gets worse when it get colder but not this bad.

it takes a while for the engine to break in, it took my truck 10,000 km to get decent mileage, and of course a change in my driving habits.....

You should be getting much better than that. I have gotten an average of 20.7mpg in mixed highway city for the last 4 tanks of 87 octane in my new '09 DC LB PreRunner (has 3700miles on it). I pulled a trailer a while back and ran the truck in 4th for most of a trip and only got about 13-14. Make sure you are driving in D instead of 4th.

i'm hoping that its because i need an air filter change... seeing how i start out at 17 - 19 mpgs then slowly went down to 13 -14 of a period of 5 months. maybe thats clogged. i do always drive in D and i dont drive hard on the pedal.

Maybe its some bad winter gas? I know when I lived in snow country and they changed the fuel for the winter my mileage suffered ?

Do you get the same crappy gas that we do down here for the winter time ??

10% ethanol winter blend sucks, mileage goes out the window.

I don't know what they do in Canada but here they tell the mixture on the gas pump. But even that, it's hard to say because it varies state to state. Generally, if you go from non-ethanol summer blend to 10% ethanol winter, that WILL make your mileage decline, sometimes 1-2 mpg. FYI: I get approx 18 city/23hwy.

Hello friend, What part of the Rock do you live on? I just got my Taco last week, in part to head out to very remote places near my 1/2 home up near Lanse aux Meadows. Quirpon if you've ever heard about it. I can't wait to get back up there with my new-to-me 06.

BTW, you can do a few things to help increase MPG: synthetic oil, higher flow air filter, freer flowing exhaust, properly inflated tires and the best mod of all, the "right foot weight reduction" mod.

My Taco have less than 400 miles and i have fill it up twice already, I hope i get better milage once i hit the 5000 mark. I think my problem might be that i work one and a half miles from home and i warm up the truck longer than the time that takes me to get to work :)

You should get the oil and filter changed. How cold is it? The cold temperature can effect milage a lot. I don't think Canada puts ethanol in its gas? When I was in Alberta you could get gas with ethanol at Husky.

The day that i was going to drive it to Baltimore like an hour away, the day before the dealer called me to let me know that they were going to install the running board for my truck and i ended up taking a loaner car, witch by the way it was a 09 camry. it was a nice ride and i didn't have to pay for the gas
