Why is your idle set so high? 1500rpm is like driving 55mph in top gear, and your still at the curb. Get your idle down to around 850 and that will help a bit.
Aside from the normal tune-up tips, you're just going to have to take it a step at a time. Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I dont know why the idle is that high? mine is like 700-1000 depending on if its warm or not. Shifting that high will also lead to worse gas I shift at like 2250-2500 rpm

Try cleaning your MAF sensor and maybe run some seafoam through the intake. Are any of your brakes hanging up and sticking? Perhaps your o2 sensor has gone out on you.

Does it drop down to 700 rpms after the high idle?

If not, your throttle position sensor might be faulty.

On top of cleaning the MAF also clean your throttle body and IAC valve.

Check tire pressure. Low tire pressure kills mpg, especially at lower speeds.

Check Tire pressure, replace diff fluids, replace PVC valve, shift under 3k, and try to coast as much as possible. When I first got my truck (3.4) I was getting 12-14 mpg. Now my record is 23.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
its hard to say why your mileage is off what kind of coils, wires and plugs did u use? now I have not posted in a while, I just moved out of the city to Aurora, ( never going back) but with what I have done to my truck, and out here driving, I checked my mileage and was suprised that it was as good as 20.12....mpg. and i have a heavy foot.

If you say the idle is high for about 5min, then it drops, that's is completely normal. If it never drops, could be a bad TPS, temp sensor

Classic symptoms of a bad or dirty IAC. Weird prolonged idle, stall in neutral, crappy mileage.

Was the front o2 sensor symptoms I experienced were stalling while driving, knocking, bad gas mileage, not starting, not smooth shifting, and slower acceleration. Install was easy once I knew what I was doin thanks for the help everyone

5 minutes?? That's not normal. A minute or two yes but longer seems excessive, unless it's below 40F outside. In AZ in June it's probably 65+ even overnight.

My truck at a cold start idle takes about 5 min before idle comes down to normal. And I'm in florida. It will idle high as long as it's not at operating temp

Also check rear brakes, my 2000 had rusted park brake linkage causing brake drag.fixed that and gained nearly 2 mpg
