Looking for some help. I have a 2014 Tacoma Access Cab and had shifting issues so I took the truck to a Toyota dealer and was told the gear position switch was failing and the gear shift cable is stretched. They replaced the switch and tell me I need to replace the cable but they have no idea when they will get one. Since the switch was changed out the truck shifts without any noticable problem and it has been 3 months now. Do I really need to replace the cable or is this just a dealer trying to up sell me on the repair? Thanks for any input!!
