Changed my oil 2 weeks ago, Had a much smaller ammount on the cap. Cleaned it off, waited 2 weeks and checked it again, only to find this. I have done a good ammount of reading and it seems that this can build up in colder climate with short trips on the engine... or im screwed and it my head gasket. figured i would ask you guys for some input as well. oh, just hit 85k on the ODO.

    NONE.....yet!
Let's come up with a common term for that. How about "4.0 Smegma"? You didn't tell us whether you make many short trips. That could be it.

Good point. My drive to work is 14 minutes. I only let the truck idle for about 2min before I take off. I never let the truck run for less than 10min. Even if I just have to move it so the old lady can get out of the driveway I will let it run for a few.

If your truely concerned a good easy test is to shut the truck off. Pop the radiator cap off then get in start the truck, if you have a geiser then Shoot it right between the headlights:D
