Bad idea?!?!

Whats up guys,

I'm new-ish into the tacoma world and looking at an 07 taco 4x4.

The guy has a bully dog tuner with a JBA exhaust system with no cats. The engine light is on because there is no cat sensor.
Is there any easy way to get the check engine light to go off with out putting back on the cats?
Really is it worth buying with the engine light on if this is the only reason.

Check what engine codes are present and if they are consistent with what you describe. Otherwise no real way to tell.

 

I’d keep looking, and for something stock.

This ^^^. The guy has probably driven the crap out of it. What ever the stated reason for the check engine light is I’d avoid buying a vehicle until the problem was resolved.
