All i can tell you is to be careful of some brand tires where their made. I once bought a set of all terrain tires on a deal from walmart...they were made in thailand, and didn't last worth chit. They were terrible in mud to.

Wait. Discount Tire will buy your used tires? I have 8k on mine but was going to let them get worn down more before changing.

Nonsense. Goodyear adventures with so called kevlar is pure garbage. I've had a stick (about a size of a pinky finger) puncture an inner sidewall about 0.5 in from the thread on my brand new TOR MT with about 550-80 mi on it. Paved road in my neighborhood gardeners were doing tree pruning and spilled small twigs all over the road. My taco rear passenger side tire picked one of them up. Key point here not a rock not a screw but a wooden twig. I replaced the damaged tire will drive that crap for a year just to get my money worth and will replace them with Michilins. I've never had/purchased good year before and after this I never will. OEM Adventures = Garbage

Depends where your driving is, or what its on will determine the best tire for your needs. I've had these goodyears on over 2 years now, and their fine. I'm not big into off-road excursions anymore. They accomplish what i drive the truck on everyday, i'm satisfied.

my oem firestones have been holding up great. driven over glass, crumpled metal, and done about 20 miles of trails that were pure rock with no punctures yet.

Good enough for the Pro, good enough for me, I always say.

The fellas at Toyota Racing Development specifically chose the Goodyears for their flagship professional racing truck, the Tacoma TRD Pro!!

They were Atturo's. The tires were fine on wet roads and dirt roads, but terrible when driven in mud. I didn't get 30k miles on them before the thread life was up.

I bought A/T Duratracs as soon as I could afford them, and sold off my Kevlar tires while they were still like new. This helped pay for the Duratracs.

265/75/16 Duratracs come with the 3 peak snow designation, and that was a must.

I can tell you general grabber at/2's have the snowflake symbol. Their the best tire i've tried in deep snow that were still pretty quiet on dry roads.

I guess they did not plan for " super sticks" found on the roads in illinois.
I don't care what kick backs they got or cost saving measures from good year , just cause stuff comes as oem it does not make it good.
I've never seen crop like these adventures sidewall is way too soft and vulnerable

Well it’s your opinion, against the opinion of the thoroughbred engineering team at Toyota Racing Development that developed the Tacoma TRD Pro for professional racing, hence the badges. Any way you slice it, the Wranglers are an off-road race tire if they mount them on the Pro.

You can have mine for free next year when I replace that crap with michelins. Just because oem uses something does not make it good. Cost savings to Toyota, may be.

+1 on General Grabbers. I'm on my second set of Grabber AT/Xs on my Tacoma. I had two sets of AT2s on my old Subaru before making the switch.

They've been solid and quiet on road, as well as great off road in all the conditions I've had them in (basically everything shy of serious rock crawling)

Wondering how much MPG goals factor into it. Every ounce on that tire can push them under the MPG goals. We all already know things like acceleration and shift points are adjusted to increase MPG, even if it is a negative for the driving experience. At 37 pounds, the stock tires have to be one of the lightest available.

Thus why I wonder about the Ultraterrain ATs at 40 pounds. Other than a slightly deeper tread and somewhat more aggressive sidewall, what compromises are they making at 40 pounds, just 3 pounds more than stock? I don't feel like I need an E rated tire, but I do wish there were more C rated tires in 265/75/16.

What tires did it come with? My 2016 came with Firestone's and they were nice. My 2020 came with Toyo A30's and are complete garbage. I upgraded to Cooper Discoverer's and they are much better in questionable terrain!
