Was driving the other day and start to notice my pedal wasn’t as stiff as usual but didn't think much of it at the time and went home and parked for the night. Drove around the next day and immediately noticed the clutch pedal is super mushy, i still drove it and it was shifting very rough and at a stop it didn’t want to go into 1st.

    1st gen Tacoma 2.7L

Edit: Ended replaced up replacing both clave and master cylinder and bled the system and feels good as new ezpz.

Check fluid at master clutch cylinder, if it’s full try flushing/bleeding the system. The fluid can get burnt up and turn black.

I had an intermittent soft pedal in my 2.7. Slave was replaced, no change. You could push the pedal to floor with pinky finger.
Master was shot, but not leaking. Just no pressure behind pedal and thus no shifting.... Replaced and was fine. good luck.

Slave cylinder. Replace. Seal gets worn out. Easy peazy.

Start with the slave. Be prepared to do a master.
