The BMW man is a friend and a lead at my company so I got out and just started saying I would pay for it out of panic to be honest. I still think I should have seen it and been able to stop.. I was going so slow. Since we inspected his again - there is actually nothing on his vehicle (it was mostly dust for some reason), I don't believe I will be paying anything for him after all.
I won't be going through insurance or anything (I just changed to a new policy on Friday unfortunately) so being on a new policy with a ' probationary period' I'll pay out of pocket if I decide to repair in the next 60 days. It was a cascade of stupid luck.

Completely off topic, but why does it look like you hit something with your winch? Or is that bend normal in the front?

Google boiling hot water dent removal. Nothing to lose at this point. If anything you should empower an ‘if these losers can do it so can I’ attitude.

I'm going to try this today. I will probably just have to remove a few bolts of the plastic cover in the wheel well to get to it. I tried sticking my hand in there earlier and it didn't really work lol

Just reach in and pop it out.

I wouldn’t risk further damage by trying to pour boiling water on plastic. You could damage the paint through the expansion and contraction.

Bro hate to tell ya but anyone BACKING out and runs into ANYTHING, it's their fault.

Let him fire you then you can sue the shit pants off of him.

Grow a set and go have a talk with your co-worker. It's HIS fault. If he tries to make you feel different then get a little more firm. I'd be on the phone with a police officer and file an accident report. Or better yet - get the douche to buy YOU a new plate bumper.

Bet he won't back into the plate bumper...420% on that.

Same thing happened to me. A coworker backed into my vehicle in our parking lot. I filed a police report, his insurance took care of it, and that was that. He admitted blame and wanted to do the right thing. As workers we weren't in the same chain of command, so there was no pressure to take the blame.

I'm also the owner of a Taco with some damage that I've learned to live with. My truck rolled down the driveway on Christmas eve a few years ago. The door was open, and hooked the neighbor's mailbox. The damage was limited to my truck. Repairing it would have involved a new door and fender and probably a new paint job. I spent a few hours resetting the door. The only part I had to replace was the door check. Sure, it sucked, but I knew I was planning to drive my Taco for a long time. I still have no plans to repair the damage.

I bought a new used Honda Civic for my daughter a few years back. It had a dent in the plastic bumper like that. They had a mobile repair guy that came to the dealer and did repairs in the back corner of the dealership. He popped the dent out and heated from the back and got it straight. Then he painted it and you couldn't tell anything had happened. I had some blemishes on another Honda I had so I drove to the lot one day and got his card. He said he would fix mine. I never did get him to do it, but that's an idea. :)

I’m also for bumpering up, just don’t hit any beamers with it afterwards- your bill for their repairs will be much higher! :)

    same shit as everyone else
Why not just get an appraisal from a expensive body shop and claim it on your insurance. Eat the $500 you’ll loose for deductible and keep the rest of the payout in cash to buy a nice aluminum bumper? That’s easily $2000 in parts and labor not to mention paint etc.

Or use the payout towards your future house...

Turn a negative into a positive.

It's a truck man, deal with it. I dont like my vehicles being beat up either, but a fixing a dent in a truck is really low on the priority list. Keep saving for the house.

As far as people claiming its not your fault, I guess its different here in Texas. If you are moving and the front of you vehicle strikes the side or rear of another vehicle, you will be leaving with a ticket. Sounds like a smart decision to leave the police out of this, you don't want a ticket on top of the damage
