Hey guys I just want to vent and I want to ask for advice. I'm not sure if I can post this here or if it is supposed to be in off-topic.

So let me start this story by saying that I park at my girlfriends parents house a few times a week. They live on a court with a lot of people parking on the street.

I am a really easy-going guy and I always try to park and act with respect, especially since I don't live there.

So two times now I have come out to my truck in the morning to go to work and found notes saying please don't park in my spot. I park in the street not blocking anyone's driveway.

This morning I go out like normal to go to my truck and find another note. Now I'm mad.

Please tell me if I am in the wrong to get upset and tell me what would you guys do?

I never see these people outside and today after work if I see them I am going to try to talk to them politely but if they get loud with me I'm not going to back down.

Why would they ask you not to park there if there is no assigned parking???

And they have two spots in their driveway but they park all the cars on the street to try to save their driveway spots but then every morning when I leave their driveway is still empty

Long story... we had an apartment then she decided she wanted to break up with me then after a month she said she made a mistake... a lot of drama but I love her. We've been together 5 years. I agree about getting another place tho.

    Edit:
    I'm young and dumb lol.

If it were me I'd just keep parking there. If there was an actual reason behind it, they'd leave an explanation or their number or something.

Park in their driveway since they're not using it. Loosen up you engine drain plug a little when you do.

Public street public parking! I can see the frustration though not owning a driveway to park on though especially the urban areas.

Stay up and wait for them in the bushes, with a ghillie suit on if you have one.. Ask them if they want to talk about things.

I agree getting some insight there. Do they have an HOA there? If so, could be worth seeing if there are any actual guidelines. Some people try to use ignorance to their advantage in that since you may not be familiar with the fine line with what you can do parking wise, they might be hoping to scare you off with their warnings. If this is truly the case, then ALL they can ever do is recommend you park somewhere else as there is no stipulation to enforce.

If her parents can provide no further clarity and no reason to be hesitant on the issue, then yea man I would be prepared to have a discussion should the opportunity arise. I imagine eventually these people will likely identify themselves in some way if they keep writing notes with no results for them.

My rents live in an HOA neighborhood and although the general rule is you shouldn't park on the street due to congestion and shit, there is NO actual ruling. So for this game, just simply ask for the "rules that state this." If they have it in legal/formal writing in an official neighborhood reference, THEN you can comply. If not, then you are just like everyone else. Its not your fault that they don't have their own stipulations that some neighbors feel their housing area should.

Wait till you have real neighbor problems

My across the street crackheads have cars coming and going EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF THE DAY

ALL DAY AND NIGHT, COMING AND GOING BUYING CRACK/METH

and stealing my fucking mail out of my mailbox

Yeah, a note on the window sounds a little bit better, huh?

You could also leave a note on your dash, for them to see.. Stating, "I'm watching you thru crosshairs right now, and I'm tired of your pussy notes on my truck".
