I fish quite a bit on Norris from October to April. Not so much this time of year. I fish Ft. Loudon in the summer a couple of times per week. I also fish Watts Bar, Chickamauga, Guntersville, and occassionally Melton Hill.

I do wade the Pigeon River some too. I float the Clinch several times per year with the wife. We don't really fish it though.

Thanks. I can't wait to finish up the bumper.

    My not-to-distant plans are:

    -Line-X the bed
-AVH Pioneer 7" screen CD player
-New speakers (I'm not going gangsta') I just want Metallica to sound better and my current factories just aren't rocking "Sad but True" too well.

Bumper has been done for a few weeks. I ended up not getting it powder coated. I ended up spraying it myself with some rattle cans. I started with an etching primer, sanded, sprayed a few coats of satin black, sanded, sprayed the final coat. I still need to wet sand.

I also re-installed my factory license plate lights and installed new LED cool blue lights. They look very clean.

    Cool.

Yeah, I haven't been driving it much. I've been driving my piece of crap, 1986 Honda Accord daily driver. She has 353,000 miles and about that many pounds of rust. However, she gets better than twice the mileage of the Tacoma, so that's nice. I finally got the air conditioning fixed in it too.

Bumper looks great, is it as close to your bed corners as it looks?

Can I have your rear bumper? That thing is awesome. I'm in the planning and drawing phase of mine, but I might have to change my plans and make something similar to yours. GREAT fab skills!

    Thanks.

My buddy pretty much did all of it. He's awesome. Looking back, I still think my idea of using a piece of 6" x 6" to start from made aligning everything much easier than having to build a fixture or try to keep it all aligned with magnets, etc.

I also love having the factory lights on it. I hate when someone has a kick-ass bumper and some crap-tacular ebay light kit on it as an after-thought.

Yeah, having the factory lights on it definitely give it a "factory" look. Much better than those chrome little things.

Pretty good. The truck is giving me fits lately. Had to replace carrier bearing last week. Truck threw a misfire code and replace the plugs and wires last week too.

Tonight, the P0420 code threw. Time for a new cat. Having a bunch of clunks in the front and rear.

Probably needs a new brake booster too.

I still love it though. I've been thinking about buying an 04-ish Tundra for pulling the boat.

glad to hear. and sucks about the truck giving you problems. Guess it’s just that time in it’s life.

Few things about the 1st gen tundras, annoying ticking or something with the engine. i think it maybe a lifter rod or something maybe timing with one of the pistons/cylinders. but i really don’t know for sure. also the seat belts don’t retract like they should or at all really. thats the 2 things the bug me the most. dad has a ’00 maybe the newer 1st gen don’t have those problems.

No one is demanding the OP make more rear bumpers!?! I want it!

Seeing your rear cab window install video reminds me my latch is broken as well lol.

    Digging your build.

my 01 tacoma threw the p0420 code a few times. I just cleared them and kept going. The code stopped getting thrown after clearing it twice in about a month and the truck always passed smog. Try to live it out.
I like the story how your were able to do your build. My 01 was totaled by some douche who ran a red light. The tacoma saved our lives! Now I am sitting on a 11k check wondering how to spend it.... hmmm

Thanks. The window cab dog bones are easy to install and it's a little piece of mind knowing that someone can't just pop it open with a credit card. :D

I'm working on a creative way to get around the 02 sensor.

I'll tell you that when I had that big check staring at me, I really debated on whether or not I wanted to spend the money on the winch, bumper, lift, exhaust, lights etc...I'm glad I did. Pick an amount to save and spend the rest on the truck. You'll have money saved and a kick ass truck and you can live happy doing a little of both.
