just get a cheap harbor freight angle grinder and a cutting wheel. cost me 20 bucks and has helped in numerous situations. although if you use it when you start at the air conditioning unit expect some trouble.

$120+ for a Sawzall versus $17 moosebucks for a nut splitter?

My truck is still drivable...unlike last time.

None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
Krazie, I absolutely mean you no disrespect... but I have been struggling to breathe for the last 2 hours from your misfortune. In fact, I liked Chris's quote from page 1 so much, i made it my sig.

But after reading both this and the oil change thread, I have to ask...

You have any other threads like this?? I need something to read later this week. Maybe something along the lines of "I accidentally replaced a guy's bitten-off tongue with his sawed-off pinky"??

Fuck using a dremel for this job. Cut off grinder or angle grinder if not a sawzall. (I prefer grinders since I always seem to go through blades too fast. Grinder wheel at least lasts for MONTHS!)

+1! I've been living for 4 years with a $5 traveling tool show grinder. It stops working, I pull the brushes out, stretch the springs out, put them back in, and it's good to go for a few more months. I spend more on sanding discs for it than I did for that one, and a second grinder I bought.

Seriously dude, Northern Tool, Valu-Home Center, Harbor Freight, any one selling grinders for $20 or less will last long enough to get this done. Just do it in sections. Don't run the grinder for an hour straight and burn it up. Take breaks and let it cool down often. It can be done! I've had one for 4 years that my grandfather paid $5 for at a traveling tool show. And I do my own welding so I use it a bit. More than just 1 suspension job.

I got one of those too from a tool show. IIRC, the pack of blades cost more than the saw. Not the best saw, but after 4 years I can't complain about paying $5 or less for it. :D

Any discount tool/hardware stores? Ace Hardware, Valu-Home Center, Harbor freight, Northern Tool, etc?

None of those in Canada especially northern Alberta. But Rona usually has some decent tools for pretty cheap. I got a $60 cordless drill there and I've been kicking the crap out of it for 3 years now.

Ah. Well, maybe I should buy a couple and ship them up north for him. LOL He'll still need them by the time they get there.

Or have Harbor Freight or Northern Tool ship them... :D

Krazie, just invest in an air compressor and tools! Imagine the destruction (and TW amusement!) you could cause with those!!

Krazie Sj: Did you got nut splitter? its your easy way out.

To others, if you work on your truck you know sometimes the easiest things can make your teeth grind. :) Especially if you are working by yourself.

If you dont do anything more then oil change, you really have no right to make fun of him... IMHO
