Steel versus hardened steel encased in chrome.

And my big bear paw crushing the shit out of it. Find me any vice grips you want...I'll do the same to them.

Maybe try using a bench vise, it'll give you more surface area.

Oh Fuck. Oh dear. Fuck your life. I'd come help you, but I was putting new runners on my sled and I burnt my house down.

But at least we got pics out of it.

I'm thinking a directional explosive charge or sell the truck.

Hey somethign to consider, buy a qt of Mobil synth ATF and soak all the bolts that you need to take a part. Give it few days for them to do that. just keep putting fresh ATF on them. All my super rusted hardened bolts came a part that way.

Cut it the F off already. I would tell you to weld something to it but god only knows what would happen.

The guy who sold me them is coming this weekend with one. We're going to try that before I cut them off.

The bolt spins the whole assembly. An infinity long breaker bar...same shit would still happen.

How would that help? it wouldn't fit through the hole then after the nut came loose? Besides, my old man is a welder...I'd just get him to do it.

Weld something to it so you can break it loose. Then break the weld and remove or just cut it.

I don't mean to make light of your shitty situation, now that I can see just how serious and shitty it is. I have a 1st gen, so I was not familiar with the little 5mm hex at the top.

Once I realized it was not going to come loose easily with the standard wrenches, I would have taken a small wire brush to clean up all areas around the nut where it looks gunked up and corroded to clean all the threads and adhered crap, then I would have soaked it for a few more days with PB before trying again. The use cheaters on the both wrenches. Then heat.

My point is, as I believe chris pointed out in utter dismay and surprise, vice grips basically should never touch a nut or bolt, because 9 times out of 10, it makes the situation worse. Not the right tool/technique for the job.
