Changed my oil and checked the air filter today and noticed that my coolant tank is low. Then seen there is some pink residue around the radiator cap. I've never ever even opened that or had any real reason to touch this before. Not sure what to make of that but there is evidence of a leak for sure. What would you all do? Should I just get a new cap or try to open it and seal it up again and monitor it first? 20230624_140357.jpg 20230624_140500.jpg

Would start with a new radiator cap, clean off all the residue, fill to the appropriate level and monitor it for a few weeks.
Since you’re going to replace the cap, may as well go with this, from Toyota,
“Benefits of Choosing Toyota Genuine Trd Radiator Cap Parts
Enhance performance in high-rpm or high-load conditions with the TRD radiator cap. Releases at higher cooling system pressures than factory caps, raising the coolant boiling point to help protect the engine.”

You can probably find a cheaper one if you search around a bit.

*make sure your radiator cap is on right, you twist it on and then twist it one more time, a bit different, so make sure it’s sealed properly when you take it off/put back on*

i would first make sure the hole in the overflow is clear where it attaches under the cap. When i was 16 i had a shop install a new radiator and the overflow hole was still capped off with plastic causing this condition. Something you just always assume wouldnt be an issue.

Petty sure I’ve seen posts on here about 3gen rad caps leaking.
    You still under warranty?
Dealer may replace it worth a try.

I've got about a month of the 3 year bumper to bumper left.

The radiator wasn't low just the recovery tank. After I posted the original post I decided to open it up and look. I cleaned all the pink residue and put it on tight. Went to autozone for some Toyota Lexus coolant.
Thanks for all those suggestions. I think I'll top it up later and watch it a few days. Might be worth a dealer visit if the leak shows up again.

Less than a cup to bring it up to middle of the tank when it was warmed up. That tells me it's not a major leak.
Now I have some on hand.
