I like the dark green! ... it was a 50/50 choice for me between that and the dark grey.

About the shell... its ironic that you hate how the shell looks right now but still enjoy your tacoma enough to put a picture of it in your sig. :)

Dealer said he is going to look into it and get back with me. The reason I got it was so that we could put our suit cases and stuff in it when we go on trips to the beach the old lady wont take here 4 runner on the beach but I will take my truck out there in a minute. It also nice to go camping with told hold all the gear. Plus its alot cheeper than a 4 runner and can be take off if needed. I had a 05 that was the same model with shell it went all over the country. Sold it for tundra 4 door long bed that thing was loooooooooong so I went back to the tacoma with a cap in the 09 model. Cant wait to here what bs the dealer comes up with haahahah. FUN4YOU

HAHA...its a "shorty", had to joke about it. Looks wrong IMHO.

Dump the thing at the dealer, take some pics and fight the credit card charges...no way is that the right one. Sounds like the stealer already tried to screw you..time to end the deal right there.

Wow. I would look for something different. Their reason why it is shorter does not make sense at all.

So are the plastic bed caps still on the truck?

I have sold and installed many LEER caps for the 05+ taco and have not seen that before. If you think the cap is not for your truck give me the serial # and I can make sure. Although if it is not the correct cap to fit the truck there would be obvious fit issues all over the place.

No doubt that they have removed the bed caps. You do not need to remove them. Nothing wrong with the Leer, its a dealer problem. Make them fix it or get your money back. Looks like crap.

As we expected the cap is the correct model code and fit for your truck. It was manufactured at LEER east in Feb 09. With being familiar with the manufacturing process there are a few things that could have occurred, either at the dealer (removing factory bedcaps) or the base rail of the cap was mounted to high causing the cap to sit lower on the bed (usually very unlikely in knowing how it is done) or the mold that it was made in was not designed to correct specs. The manufacturer probably has two or three of these molds for each truck type making it possible that ordering another from a different mold may be a solution. Good Luck Leer is a good company to deal with and if it is a Leer problem I am certain you can get it corrected.
