I have. 2014 v6 purchased in October and have started noticing a bad smell from it not sure how to describe it but it's bad. It is most noticible when running the ac but can sometimes smell it with just the fan blowing. Also, after parking the car you can sometimes notice it. Thoughts on what it could be?

has it been parked a long time?

Mice will sometimes crawl into my plow truck and make a nest and shit everywhere. It's a dusty moldy smell.

Buy 4, 6packs of pine trees and open them all up.

Never been Parker for more than 2 days (my daily driver). Stays in the garage when parked. Only has 4000 miles on it, should it need a new cabin filter already?

Doesn't hurt to check. Lots of other good suggestions from other posters as well: vermin, droppings, bacteria.

That's a great suggestion - I never thought about running the heat for a bit.

Probably the AC. If it smells like gym socks it's definitely the AC. Been an issue in every car I've had since the 'new' ac has been out.

Best thing to do, as said above, is to turn of the ac and run outside ambient air for a few minutes before parking.

If it's the ac, it should get better as you air it out through use.

Try cleaning the vent/drain tube as well.

Passenger side firewall. Use a zip tie, long pipe cleaner, thin wire, and a shot of compressed air.

    Had the same issue.

My 14 started the bad smell also. It actually burns the eyes. 1st time this weekend in 100 + degrees. I am thinking its the adhesives in the truck. Had to drive home with the windows open. This is not the musty smell from the ac.

Chemical smell? Rotten meat smell? Have you looked underneath at your exhaust and Cat converter? Maybe you picked up a plastic shopping bag.

Run AC on fresh air setting now and then especially in humid weather. Normally this happens to people who always run on recirc. Service writer at dealer told me his wife had problem with Camry and recirc was cause.

In my '06 Taco, I discovered a nest of (dead) mice on my cabin air filter. Yeah... it smelled gross in the truck. I ended up screwing a course mesh wire screen over the cabin air inlet. Hasn't happened to my '14 yet. I had hoped Toyota sealed up the access. This thread depresses me. I guess I'll have to be pro-active.
