Can't judge from radio only...could be signal problems. Get a direct source in there...CD or MP3 player...

My personal opinion, it's not bad - plenty of clarity, but the sound lacks substance. Sounds a bit "flat". Not high on my list...I have other plans for my truck than listening to audio.

I think the JBL system sounds decent. It sounds alot better than the premium 7 speaker sound system that was in my 2008 Accord.

As for the regular sound system I cannot comment.

Ya, it's you and the sound system sucks. New receiver and speakers is a must if you drive any distances - unless you like the sound of your own voice.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
Mine isn't so bad. Cd's sound good, radio. not so good. The first radio i had in the truck had faulty radio reception. the dealer changed it out though. The stock unit isn't loud, But i do here some low bass. Ever bought a ford with a stock radio? I've had two, and they were terrible.

I love the stock system. It always impresses people who ride in my truck. This is the only reason i haven't swapped mine yet. Maybe 07 was just a good year. haha

Been there done that - didn't work. I swapped out all the speakers and it marginally helped. The governor on the stock radio's volume control still was a problem, not to mention it had a freq response that rivaled a radio bought at CVS. Once I replaced the head, it all came together.

My advice - try the speakers first. If you're still not happy then go for a new receiver. Then a sub, maybe an amp, some fuzzy dice. You get the picture.

get a new headunit first, then speakers. Headunit should be the first upgrade in a car's system.

    .

the headunit will greatly increase the volume and "umph" of the speakers, and allow you to adjust your EQ to exactly how you want it.

I just put in a new headunit- Pioneer fh-p800bt and have the factory speakers (for a few more days) and the the sound quality is slightly better. I figured the sound is limited by the factory speakers so I temporarily took out the factory speakers to trace and make adapters for the new polks I ordered. I was stunned at the quality. You know those fake paper TV's they put in furniture stores to display the furniture? Reminded me of those. They're nearly weightless, and almost look fake. I can't believe they actually sound as good as they do. I can't wait for my 4 polks to arrive. There has to be a HUGE improvement in sound over those factory speakers!

I hafta agree, the stock stereo in my 07 sounds pretty nice, i added a bazooka tube which i got for free and sounds pretty good. I'm not crazy into car audio, but it works for me. Although sometime down the road i'd like to change the head unit and speakers.
