What's up guys. so I'm having a little bit of a bad week. First of all i totally screwed up while draining my "oil" and ended up draining my transmission fluid. Stupid fucking me. Then i figured synthetic ATF would work so i put some of that in my transmission thinking it would work. Stupid fucking me. After i figured out that Toyota's require Toyota ATF only i took her in to the nearest Toyota dealership and had a full transmission flush done for $266.00, then when they were done and ran her threw the wash i noticed a huge gash in my passenger side rear access door. Stupid fucking them. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

And after all of this i noticed that my transmission is not acting like it was or should. Do transmissions act a little goofy after coming out of the shop like that? should i call them up and see if maybe they can plug her into the system and see if the ECU system need reset. grahhhhhhh ill be pissed if i have to pay for a whole new transmission. i wonder if the can take payments.

damn it damn it damn it.... .... ... :annoyed:

You are definately not the first to do this, as I'm sure more people will say. There is an epic thread about this that someone will post here. The dent really sucks, hope your week goes better this time around.

As for the Trany I would go take off the negative bettery cable for a minute or so and let the computer reset. See if that helps. (FYI write down preset radio stations and ODO numbers you will lose them).

As for the scratch take it back and tell them to fix it. Other wise you truck has a little more charactor now. lol

BTW really nice looking truck you have.

How many miles do you have? High mileage trannies with no oil changes can cause fuck ups after you end up flushing.

    I'm sure you won't do that again:cool:

Yeah, as far as the scratch goes i brought it to there attention immediately and they said they will cover the cost of fixing it at a body shop that they use. I should have asked for free license plate covers or something oh well. Im more concerned about my transmission. Ill try the battery trick and then drive it to see if there is any difference at all. If it still acts up I'm taking it back. I want to point out that when I had the wrong fluid in there it still did not act like that. Interesting that it does out of the shop.

I did the disconnecting the battery trick but that did not solve the problem. On the way the the store with the girlfriend it started to slip.I Immediately changed corse and headed to the dealership to talk to some one (dealing with the nagging girl friend all the way there). Long story short I'm taking the truck in to toyota to have them look at it. I hope its still under warranty and they can figure it out.

Hopefully you didn't give them details when you asked for a flush. They might try to weasel out of a warranty or lemon law if they can blame it on you.

According to the manual they tell you to use Toyota ATF or similar. Make sure the oil you used is rated the same as stock and it shouldn't matter.

Like rear diff fluid. As long as it is GL-5 or better they can't deny warranty. Make sure the ATF you used is rated what the manual states.

    Dear: Toyota

On Saturday, September 10, 2011 I took my 2008 Toyota Tacoma Access cab 4 X 4 to my local Toyota dealer, Toyota of Tri-Cities, to have my transmission flushed and serviced. When I gave them the keys to my 2008 Tacoma I was expecting nothing less then respectful and knowledgeable customer service. They completed my transmission flush, I paid, took my service paper work, received my keys and went out to my truck and noticed a large dent/scratch as it was being dried from the car wash. I immediately reported this to Gary Miller, an Expert Toyota Service Advisor who observed the damage and told me that it will be taken care of by the body company that they use free of charge to me. I agreed and drove my truck home.

On Sunday, September 11, 2011 I noticed while driving that the transmission has started to slip and make unnatural sounds. This transmission has never slipped before or sounded like that until I had it serviced at Toyota of Tri-Cities the day before. I immediately drove to Toyota and explained the problem to a sales men and he explained to me that the service shop was close on Sundays and that they open at 7:30 on Monday morning and to bring it in then. This is now a large scratch in my truck and a possibly damaged transmission that is not working properly.

On Monday, September 12, 2011 I brought my truck back to the shop and explained to them the problem; the transmission was slipping and making unnatural sounds. They sent a tech to take a drive with me and before we exited the parking lot he had pin pointed and diagnosed the problem. He explained that it seemed that the transmission was not properly filled. He dropped me off and took the truck to get serviced. After waiting about an hour for the second time they completed another service and were looking to give that service to me for free. It was then that I politely pulled the service representative aside and explained my dissatisfaction with the service. The service person then went to talk to the Toyota of Tri-Cities Service Manager Leonard Lord.

I then explained the reasons for my dissatisfaction to Leonard Lord and was met with belittlement and rudeness. I simply explained that I felt that the service was less then acceptable and I was not satisfied with the work that was done since I had to come back because my transmission was not properly taken care of on the first visit. Leonard then explained to me that they have dropped the service charge for bringing my truck in to get the transmission serviced the second time and also included one free oil change on my next visit.

I don’t believe a free oil change is going to cover up the damage that has been done to my transmission, or the fact that I was treated rudely as a Toyota Tacoma owner and as a Toyota customer. The service that I experienced was low quality, there is damage to my paint and to my transmission, I was treated ruddily and a free oil change is not going to fix these issues.

    Thank You
