    SO!

I got bored the other day and found myself in the weird parts of the interwebs and decided to scoop up one of the badboys pictured below.

I'm kind of tired of my derped badge as is and thought this would either look bawss or ricer.

    Input?

    on...
    IMAG0531_zps436ec79c_647bb4bbe9f0f8d11d0182f0ab83f9c6f9d33d12.jpg

    off...
    IMAG0532_zpsbddd6c6f_bfe3cf14bbddbfef53c102e3da95cfe116a14c6c.jpg

The Toyota emblem would be painted black because well... I hate chrome...

    Opinions?

that's interesting. Not sure it would be good on the front, but would make a good third brake light?

Pretty sure that would be illegal on the front in PA due to the red light.

DO NOT DRIVE AROUND WITH IT ON AT NIGHT!

You will more than likely get a ticket. Only emergency vehicles are allowed to display red or blue on the front of their vehicles...

I should have pointed that out as I know having red/blue lights on the front of the vehicle is illegal in well, about every state.

It would be while parked, and potentially have a "breathing" pattern to make it look like my baby is alive as I think she is :p

    Ditto.

Looks rice, and would be a ticket in California.

You do know that there are not a bunch of individual rows of LEDs in there... it's just one ring that is reflected to create the effect.
The ring itself is all one circuit... no way to make it "heartbeat" other than a simple on-off.

There is a very easy way to make it a heartbeat with a 555 counter lol.

And yes, I know, I already took it apart and I understood the concept when I bought it.

I may just use it as decoration in my man cave just for ships and goggles.

I already have motorcycle helmets as down lights so when not add something else.

    Hm...crap.

It would make my life so much easier but I don't quite like the way it looks turned off. Plus mine is still blue even when it's turned off...and it's so cheap! Dangit

I think it would look ricer if it was on all the time. But like the first guy said it would probably be kind of cool on the tailgate as a third brake light.

I'll PM you the measurements when I get home.

It's about an 1/8 larger than the stock badge on all sides but I'll get you exacts!

I think it's kinda cool, cause it's different. But I would do what I said below.

I agree I don't think I like it that much turned off either, too chromey.. I bet you could take some of the "Nite Shade" spray tint for tail lights and darken it up and throw a coat of clear on top, either all of it or just the rear.. But I'm sure it would'nt be as bright.

Should I throw a 10w led behind it and use it as a "Tacoma Call" on cloudy nights?! :D

I'm gonna get some tint and paint it just to see how it looks in black.

I think it will look a lot more discrete.
