There's an identical one on there to his but in blue as well. I think it's cool as long as it isn't too big, I'd probably put it on the front of mine as well. Yeah technically illegal but I'd take my chances. I got away with blue led front turn signals (package was mislabeled as amber when I bought them at O'Reilly and I had them mounted before wiring them, at that point I said fuck it and left them on) for about 3 years before I found that one cop that decided to give me a fix-it ticket. Changed them and went in to show them and the ticket went away, not sure if that's how fix-it tickets work everywhere.

While the new 2.2 looks great, it is definately borderline gaudy.

Yeah I saw the blue one, that's what I would order. I'm just wondering if I could change it up to work with my prius badge. The problem I'm running into is I don't want to cut my grille but the lines are showing through. Plus I'm not entirely sure how to mount my light yet and also block the "bleed" around the emblem.

 You could do that one legally if you have bright white headlights, just tell the cops that it's the same color if they pull you over :p

I wasn't planning on leaving this on while driving because I live in Commufornia. But hey! I'm not telling anyone what they can or cannot do :D

    :proposetoast:

Lucky man! Post up the pictures when you finally get it mounted to the grill!

Just be aware, it will take a little bit of fiddling because the stock badge is about an 1/8" too small on all sides but it could be fixed quite easily with a dremel.

Just my wall wort adapter for a lot of other electronics projects I have going on! I was running the light off a 9v battery so you can assume another 25% brightness out of it.

The only problem I see when trying to run it behind your modded grill is that it will show through no matter what. The backing on the one I received is 3M foam tape which is pretty good stuff so you could probably just mount the whole thing in front and call it a day!

Wait for one of them to find their way over and then we'll see what happens :D

That's how it used to be here, but now it's $30 for processing.

    BUT....

The cop can write it up as "non-correctable" and then you have to fix it AND pay a hefty fine. It's not a moving violation, so no points, but the fine will be anywhere from couple of hundred to $500 or so.

More and more cops out here are using this. Their reasoning is that "fixit" tickets are for something that malfunctioned and you simply need to repair it. Changing lights, exhaust, tint, ride height (yes, you can be too low), removing mirrors, etc... Those are things the owner did intentionally, and thus, is not a "repair" issue.

Cops have gotten tired of issuing "fixits" for tint, driver peels the tint, gets it signed off, and a month later they see the same car with tint again.

This one actually came with a sticky backside too but I peeled it off for the light to come through lol. I mean, it wouldn't be hard to get rid of the lines, I just don't really want to cut a brand new $150 grille lol. I was thinking about making some sort of cone thing to block the bleed...just not set on a plan yet lol I guess having lines isn't the end of the world though.

I'm not planning on running it while driving around the roads. I see a bunch of people all the time driving around with blue lights on headlights, fog lights, and grilles. Like MowTaco above who ran a blue light for like 3 years and only got a fix it ticket.

Believe me, I've read up on the laws and consulted a cop. I'm not dumb.

If it was flashing, that might get a cops attention a lot quicker.
